Lot of the pearls of wisdom I can give is when I find out what type of rent/mortage you can afford :). Seattle is all about where you live, and how to get around.
words of wisdom about seattle. Weather is pretty mild 365 days a year. Traffic pretty much sucks on the 5, 90, 167 and the 405.
Types of music? There is a pretty good nightlife vibe, well at least more than it used to be. Don't really know your interests, give me the 411 and I can cater the info a little better.
But generally Rent in downtown is HIGH, if you can afford HIGH, then its a good deal. If living in downtown, the transit system is really good. the downtown area has a no fare bus area.
Some good neighborhoods:
Fremont- funky/hippy/college crowd/good night life
Wallingford- Same like above, a little more older, less night life
Queen Anne- good resturants, good night life,
Belltown- Another hip/cool area to live in, good resturants, clubs and people.
