I loved it! And YAY a fellow Ravenclaw! (I however did not favor the epilogue)

You should have seen me right before I was about to read the epilogue. It was really an "ugh.." moment. I seriously came close to just not reading it. Epilogues are always shit.

Well obviously you must make a trip to Scotland to go see it!

I must honestly say, this book was okay. Not great. I was more disappointed then anything.

Really? Granted, there were boring moments in the middle, but I thought the (non-epilogue) ending made up for everything!

What disappointed you about it?

I thought she rushed through important scenes and lingered far too long on some scenes. The tent scenes...it was repeated over and over, and the deaths besides Dobby)were rushed through. Thats the only death that had any impact on me. Even fred/lupin/tonks was like blink there dead, thats it...nothing. not even after the fighting scenes were done did she delve into the emotions of it.

Personally I think it could of been so much better, I feel jipped. I think though it had to do with the pressure she was under. So many things were left unanswered as well: the social ramifications (the magical beings heirarchy) the sorting hat issue....why didn't that change?)

so much. I haven't even completly thought it out. Thats why I haven't written or been on the TP boards yet

Yeah, it would have been nice to see more of the emotional impact of people's deaths, but overall I think it wrapped up the majority of things nicely. She did say she'll be writing an encyclopedia that goes into the back stories and aftermath of everything, not that that excuses not including it in the book itself.

As for the camping scenes being drawn out, I think it sort of helps the reader get into the mindset of the trio at the time; they're bored and frustrated and so are we.

You should definitely come to TP again soon!

And Happy belated Birthday!
