What do the scriptures say about eating animals?

*This post is dedicated to the steak salesman who keeps coming to my house after I non-judgementally have told him TWICE that I'm vegetarian, and his reply was that God wants us to eat meat.   I really don't preach at others, but it's amazing how others feel they have to straighten YOU out, so....

Dear surprised, this is not a 'group', it is my personal blog at live journal where I write what I think myself, like blogs are intended for. Please do not feel obliged to come, if you think it is your role to censor personal blogs for stating their beliefs. I find many other types of personal beliefs are tolerated by the general public, just not Christian ones!

PS - I researched these scriptures myself about a month ago, but put them on my blog for others reference since many vegetarians are confronted by others who wish to inform them that it is God's plan for us to eat animals. The decision to actually share what I looked up with others was made when a fellow vegetarian had their minister actually preach that being a vegetarian was a form of IDOLATRY, in putting animals lives before God's plan to eat them. As I said, I don't go out of my way to make meat eaters feel bad, but vegetarians have the right to not be taking potshots from others who even use the Bible to judge US.

This isn't a community; this is a personal journal.
