sixth web ☠ accidental voice

Oct 20, 2010 01:07

[Tarantulas, for once, is in a rather pissy mood. It's not every day someone just waltzes right out of his web. And now he's had to pack up his new lair and everything sooner than he planned. Oh how cruel you are, fate. At the moment, he's ranting, and in mid-rant, has accidentally turned on the PokeGear. Unfortunately for you curious listeners, ( Read more... )

Having a bad day, Tarantulas-san?

[It's a pleasant tone and a murderer's grin--only someone who knows Kisame well could tell how angry he really is.]

You sound like you're being rushed. You've gotten a lot of unpleasant attention from the noble-hearted bunch here; I did warn you that it would come back to bite you.

[He'll scowl. He'll also, however, slow down enough for more of a normal conversation than he might have with most of the people who will be replying, because he's at least caught on to the fact that this person isn't your average human. At least, as far as Tarantulas' standards go.]

Do you want something?

[Off-handedly] Nothing in particular.

But I am curious, from one "monster" to another, how your methods have been working for you.

They've worked to the extent I needed them to. It simply seems I've reached a... limit, at the moment.

That's a shame. A little more subtlety would have served you better. It's been working excellently for me! Not a one of them suspects.

Heeheehee, their kind isn't worth the effort. [Nor are you, really.] And it certainly wouldn't have gotten me this far, now would it?

No matter how impressive a man's individual strength and skill, sheer numbers can outweigh that. They're not much individually but you've... [grin] stirred up the hive by kidnapping the queen.

[He shrugs] Of course, my progress has been slower than I'm used to, but I'm working on that right now.

[Come into my parlor-- He's rushing this; he knows it would be better to lay the groundwork over weeks but he wants it done as soon as possible.]

Queen? [it's more obvious in his voice, but his face shows it too - he's agitated by that.] That rodent? I should have expected as much.

Oh...? Are you now?

[Kisame shrugs] Yes, you should have, but too late now.

[He grins, a scary, dangerous grin.]

My interests are... different from yours, of course. I'm more interested in the spirit. It's so fascinating to see what you can make people want to do for you, even when they know it's wrong.

I had a few setbacks at first, and it's always slow to get them to start trusting, but after watching you, I got an idea. I should thank you, Tarantulas-san!

... Heeheehee. You have no idea what I'm doing, do you?

[He shakes his head. That's fine - his real motives are his own business.] Really now? So what exactly are you planning to do with this information?

The specifics? No, but you're capturing them to learn more about what you're researching.

[If it sounds like he's fishing, it's because he intends it to.]

I will put my plan into action once I've found the one piece I'm missing. A shame it's not a plan I can fully enact on my own.

Maybe I am! Maybe I already know. Who knows, heeheehee?

[And that's alllll you're getting.]

Oh? And what sort of plan is this?

Most of them are just in love with the idea of "heroes." A brave, noble hero would earn trust easily, especially the ones who were rescued from [snicker] dire situations.

To make the best use of the results, I would need to...arrange the dire situations first, but in a way that didn't lead back to me.

[And there's the bait. He figures Tarantulas is smart enough to figure out what he's hinting at.]

Yes, yes, I know the type all too well.

[At that, the spider just laughs.]

You want someone who already has a... bad reputation.

Exactly, and someone I know can make the situation truly terrifying as so few can. It takes talent to leave someone so shaken even so long after the event.

[Why yes, his tone makes it sound like a compliment.]

Heeheehee, I'm flattered.

So what is it you have in mind? [He is more curious than he is interested at this point, but hey. Might as well hear him out - could be fun.]
