Fascinating. Simply fascinating. No, he was not about to simply give up his mirror, not when his curiosity at such a strange phenomena was so strong. Yes, the others would try to understand it to an extent, but only to be rid of it. He, on the other hand, wanted to understand the mirror out of pure curiosity. [A regal face appears. Feminine, a little older than average, but well taken care of, refined.]

"Let them? No, I don't think I'll let them, but you must understand. I have to weigh the benefits of keeping you against the benefits of cooperating, and there's only so much ignorance I can feign. You are a fascinating phenomena, I give you that, and I'd very much like to study you, to understand how you came to be, how you can be, but you see...if I fight to keep you, or even am caught hiding you, there is the danger of losing my position in the infirmary, as meager as it is."

He didn't fear being open to her. The number one rule, he noted, among those trying to stop the mirrors was to not listen to anything they had to say, which meant he was free to say whatever he pleased without having word get out.

"They could find you." But then, the answer to that response quickly became clear in his mind. "I would have to hide you somewhere that would be natural to store a mirror. They won't think to come here for a while, though. I don't have a warden, which means the only reason I may be checked on would be if someone decided to check on everyone, which, frankly, I don't have a guarantee will happen at all, or only once if it does. I think I'll play this by ear, although...I might be more willing to consider your needs if you make it worth my while." A slow smile spread across his face. "Tell me what you know, then I'll consider how much effort I want to go to so I can hear more."
