We were driving through Baltimore when it happened. The windows were down, and the both of us were arguing. Alex didn't make any sense half the time when we fought. He screamed and screamed and usually I cowered. But today, I was taking a stand. I was going to scream back at him. I wasn't going to take it.
Don't get me wrong, Alex is my best friend, my boyfriend, my lover, my everything. He's perfect to me.
...Except when we argue.
"You're such a little prick, you know that? Dumb fucking prick." Alex swerved a little in a fit of rage and I scowled.
"You're the worst. I don't do anything, ever, and you yell at me like I'm trash. You want to explain that?"
"I think I like you better when you shut up and just listen to what i have to say to you." Alex turned onto another street hard.
"Im not taking your shit anymore!"
"I think I'd like it better if you just wouldn't talk at all!"
An 18-wheeler came seemingly out of nowhere and struck the side of Alex's Neon. All I could feel was my head being jammed up against the side of the car against the open window that was covered by truck. All I wanted to do was scream.
But something had punctured my throat and I couldn't even do that.
