So this is basically like my headcanon, jsyk. Seriously, I find it difficult to wrap my head around them not falling into this headfirst from the very beginning, gradually becoming aware of the inevitable direction (har har) their relationship was taking throughout the whole X-Factor experience. You've captured that so, so perfectly here, and I just want to read it over and over again with a stupid smile on my face and be 100% convinced that it's basically nonfiction and then drown in feels. ♥ Lovely job!

Aw yay!! ♥ Thank you so much. It means a lot that this is so believable to you, because it was the first proper fic I wrote for the fandom and I didn't really KNOW that much at that point - like, the reason Hannah is nowhere to be found in this is because I didn't even know she existed. XD And now I look back on it sometimes and feel like I got things a bit wrong, so it means a lot that it's basically your headcanon. I can never decide what mine is, exactly, for when they got together, but sometimes I watch the X Factor videos and it's like, there HAD to have been SOMETHING going on back then. XD

Funnily enough, I actually think this was one of the first fics I read in this fandom? (like, a month ago--oh my god, I both cannot believe it has been that long and can't believe it's been only that long, what is my life) I have vague recollections of skimming some fics before I really knew who any of them were, and then later on when I actually got around to Serious Fic Reading there were a few stories I'd get like a third of the way through before a line would ping and I'd just be like hey, I know this. XD Okay, anyway, that's all beside the point, but. When I first read this, I didn't know about Hannah either, and then when I did learn about her, it sort of threw me for a loop? But I feel like that's been my experience in the 1D fandom in general--I get utterly convinced and then I learn one new thing, Hannah or Caroline or Harry kissing some blonde girl or his comment about living with Louis "for now"--and then suddenly I'm all flooded with doubt. Sometimes I wonder if my rationalizations/explanations for these things aren'
