Rabi sets the cookbook down on a table in the center of the kitchen area with a smile, ready to start mixing ingredients. He glances at Allen as he ties his apron and pulls his hair into a ponytail. "Ready?" he asks as he produces a mixing bowl from one of Jerry's cabinets.
Allen looks up from the sink, drying his hands on the pink frilly apron with a grin. His own hair is tied into two small ponytails that bounce slightly as he jogs back to Rabi. "Yeah!" Allen picks up a whisker, humming happily.
Rabi smiles as he picks up the cake mix and begins pouring in the correct amount. His eyes wander from the mix to Allen. "Your hair looks really girlish like that, Allen, and the apron doesn't help," he comments with a grin as he finishes pouring the mix. He touches the frills on Allen's apron and laughs, even though he's wearing one like it too. It's Jerry's apron of choice, after all.
Allen blinks at the comment, a pout visible on his lips before waving the whisker, "I dare you to say that again!" He huffs indignantly. He begins to jerk his wrists-- slowly growing accustomed to the movement, his joints become more smooth. After a moment, Allen hears himself humming again, glancing at the picture in the cook book whenever he had the chance.
Rabi rolls up his sleeves a bit further and grins, reaching for more ingredients to add to the mixture, measuring the correct amounts, and then pouring them in. "Your hair looks really girlish," he says as he reaches to tug on one of Allen's ponytails. "And the apron doesn't help," he repeats.
"Are you picking a fight?" Allen growls, cheek tinting a light pink as he pull away from Rabi's hand before sticking out his tongue, the beating of the whisker against the bowl suddenly becomes faster. Stupid Rabi.
Rabi smiles and shrugs. "It's cute," he replies, "Take it as a compliment?" He laughs again and leans against the kitchen counter as Allen mixes up the ingredients. He watches the other Exorcist with a bit of amusement in his expression.
Allen stomps his foot in a childish manner, pulling the whisker from the bowl of batter and waves it at Rabi. "I am NOT cute." He huffs, looking at Rabi with a flash of apology in his eyes that is gone as soon as it came, worrying his lower lip as he examines the bit of batter that is flung at Rabi's face.
Rabi blinks as he feels a bit of the mixture flung off the whisker land on his skin, licking off a bit that lands near his lips. He holds up his hands as if in surrender. "I was just being honest," he says, sing-song. "You're making a mess, you know." He points to his face.
Allen huffs, returning to his task at hand before smcaking the bowl down. "What does it say next?"
Rabi picks up a wash cloth from the counter and cleans the batter from his cheek. He goes to the cabinet and produces the dish for the cake, then sets it out. "Pour the batter in here, and then we just need to bake it," he says as he looks around. "Where did we put the icing? I wanna try some~!"
Allen jumps. "Gah! Don't use that--!" He shuffles around the kitchen before returning with a clean towel, wiping at Rabi's face. He casts the redhead a strict look before returning to the counter. "Don't randomly pick up cloths and rub them against your face, Rabi-- I thought you'd know better!" Allen huffs again, realizing that he's been doing that a lot lately. Leaning over the counter, he carefully pours the creamy batter into the dish, spoon mixing the batter and flattening little bubbles of air. "Icing?" He points to the fridge.
Rabi blinks as Allen cleans his face, and laughs when he's finished. "The motherly attitude isn't helping the cute thing," he teases, nudging him with a smirk. He retrieves the icing from the fridge and comes back with it, opening it happily.
Allen reaches over and pinches Rabi on the arm with a small frown on his lips.
Rabi winces and jumps, pulling his arm away. "Hey!" he whines, petting where he was pinched. "You brought it on yourself." He takes a spoonful of icing and lifts it, dipping his finger into it and setting it to his lips, tasting. "Yummy~," he says, eyes lighting up.
Allen glances over at Rabi, pulling the oven door open and setting the tray inside. He punches a few buttons and turns a few knobs before striding back to Rabi. "I want some-- ahh--"
Rabi holds out the spoon for Allen, popping it into his mouth, then pulling it away once Allen eats it. "Good, right?" he asks.
Allen nods, licking his lips with a smile as he pushes himself to sit on top of the counter. "Mhmn... it's so sweet."
Rabi moves to stand in front of Allen, resting his hands on the other Exorcists's knees. "Of course it is. It's cake icing," he replies. "Too bad Yuu doesn't like sweets. He's gonna miss out on our cake."
"We can always save a piece of the cake and decorate it with tempura and soba," Allen laughs lightly, reaching forward to flick a small fringe os Rabi's bangs from his forehead.
Rabi makes a face when he thinks about the concept of soba cake. "That sounds gross, Allen," he replies, laughing. "He'd probably hit one of us for 'defiling' the soba, or something."
"Well, wouldn't it be the soba defiling our cake?" Allen pouts.
Rabi pauses for a moment, considering. "That's arguable, but from my point of view, I think you're right," he says matter-of-factly, reaching up one hand to idly play with the pink frills decorating Allen's shoulders from the apron. "Cake is better than soba," he adds.
Allen shifts his weight forward, resting his chin on Rabi's shoulder. "I knew you'd agree with me~"
Rabi lifts his arms to circle around Allen's waist and moves between his legs to get closer. He rests one hand at the small of Allen's back and traces random patterns on it with the other. "Of course. Sweets are far too good to pass up~"
Allen's fingers curl into Rabi's shirt and his eyes lid. He lefts out a small sigh, the scent of cake wafting through the air. Rabi is ever so warm, and the thought makes Allen smile. "Yeah. It's good Kanda doesn't have a sweet tooth."
Rabi pulls away a bit and pokes Allen's nose with a grin. "Stingy, you just want more cake for you, don't you?" he teases, looking into Allen's eyes.
Allen grins. "Oh, you know me so well... don't you want some too?" he offers innocently.
One of Rabi's hands plays idly with a white ponytail and he leans in. "I'll make sure to take some for me before you eat it all~"
"Really?" Allen's eyes lid once more, leaning in slowly before freezing as the oven pings, peeking over his shoulder curiously.
Rabi pauses, not even an inch from Allen's face as the buzzer on the oven goes off. He glances at it, then looks at Allen, unmoving. He pouts, just maybe a little bit, and waits for Allen to do something.
Allen looks back at Rabi, flushing brightly. After a moment, he presses his lips against Rabi's with a quick peck before hopping off the counter and shuffling to the cake. "Ahh~ That's good it wasn't burnt... If it does, we can definitely serve it with soba."
Rabi smiles as Allen kisses him, but blinks when he pulls away and hops down from the counter to go check the cake. He lets the pout come back to his features a bit, unsatisfied, but follows Allen to the oven anyways.
Allen smiles brightly, holding up the tray. "How does this look?"
Rabi looks at it and forgets that he's supposed to be pouting. "Looks delicious," he replies, eyes wide. "Needs the icing though, of course."
Allen flips the dish upside down, shaking it gently. "..... Rabi... it won't come out..." He pouts.
Rabi takes the dish from Allen and sets it down upside down against the cake tray. He hits on the bottom of it, shakes it around firmly, then lifts up the dish and smiles. "There, it's out now," he says with a smile. "Now! Icing."
Allen claps his hands giddily, reaching over the counter for two spatulas, handing one over to Rabi. "Here you are!"
Rabi takes one and dips it into the icing and starts spreading it over the cake. "Ughh, It looks so yummy. I wanna just eat it," he whines.
Allen nods, quickly spreading the icing quickly with a grin. "Well, the faster we finish this-- the faster we can eat!"
Rabi reaches for more icing, spreading it across the cake and a few moments later then two of them finish. He lifts the spatula to his mouth, licking the remaining icing off of it with a grin. "Should we decorate it or anything?" he asks.
"Would you like me to make a suggestion?" Allen is standing in front of Rabi now, fingers nudging the spatula from the redhead's mouth as he puts down his own spatula, arms looping around Rabi's neck. It is all a blur after, how Allen happen to find Rabi's lips against his own-- god knows when they pull apart, but when Allen does realize they have separated, he is already standing by the cake with a spatula in hand, chest heaving.
Rabi opens his mouth to speak when Allen replies with a question, but finds himself caught in the moment as Allen's lips touch his. Rabi misses the sensation before Allen even gets back to his spatula, and moves closer. He lifts one hand to Allen's cheek, tilting his chin slightly as he leans down, capturing the smaller boy's lips again and closing his eyes.
Allen makes a small noise, free hand gripping onto Rabi's shirt again. He feels his knees get weak for a moment, pulling back and blinking his eyes. He licks his lips in an embarrassed manner, cheeks flushed as he glances around. "... I... uh..."
Rabi pulls Allen flush against his body and tilts his chin upwards again, lookng into the other boy's eyes. "Hm?" he asks quietly, his hands resting on Allen's hips as he smiles.
Allen lets out a nervous laugh. "I didn't know what came over me, really--"
Rabi blinks and his arms circle firmly around Allen's waist. "What d'you mean?" he asks with a smile, carefree.
Allen blushes brightly. "I... forced a kiss on you..." He looks up at Rabi with a small pout.
Rabi frowns a little for a moment, then lets his smile return. He laughs gently, petting Allen's head. "It wasn't forced, Allen," he replies softly, "I kissed you back."
Allen nods, pressing his face into Rabi's shoulder. "That was my first with you..."
Rabi looks down at Allen, a little surprised at first. After a moment he draws Allen closer, his arms circled tightly around the smaller boy in a warm embrace. "How was it?" he whispers, just audible enough that Allen can hear.
Allen licks his lips again, grinning. "Sweet."
Rabi leans down and presses his lips against Allen's again, tasting him. When he breaks away from the kiss, he hums in agreement and smiles widely. "Like icing." he blinks, then glances over at the cake they haven't started eating. "Speaking of..."
"Ah--!" Allen jumps from his daze, shuffling through the drawers. "I think we should save some for the other people too... Reever-san looks like he needs quite a bit of sugar to stay awake." He smiles sweetly at Rabi. "Please?"
Rabi returns the smile warmly. "Of course," he replied. "As long as I get my piece," he adds after a moment, laughing.
"Help me carry some, will you?"
