I'm having a huge problem with staying interested in playing. Nothing actually compels me to turn on my PS3 and start grinding away. It just feels so bland. For what it's worth, I have the same problem with every other game, so I'm not necessarily sure that it's anything to do with Final Fantasy XIV.

Yeah I haven't seen you on in a while lol. It's probably bland bc nothing's you haven't seen before. Like I've said in the post, the story kept me going.

Progress through the story and get through the first few dungeons. It may tingle your interest a bit. And let's play together. That will make it much much more bearable haha. Over the past few years, I think a lot of us played MMO like a single player game. At least I have.

What level are you now?

I'm scared to do dungeons because I am a scrub with NPC/quest gear :( I did unlock the first Duty to get into Sastasha. On that note, I have some idea what you mean by the quality of the story, because I've done a decent number of quests that start to frame the greater picture of things in the world ( ... )

Don't worry too much about the quality of your gear and dump all of your meripos onto STR (You're LNC right?). Unlike the past, I don't have time to read up on theorycrafts to min/max my character. So I just learn the game on my own and figure out what I think is best for my character. Games nowadays are easy enough to get by without max'ing your character out.

There was a VERY clear path outlined for upgrading leveling gear in XI. You hit lv7, get the Leather set, hit lv21 (or 24?) for Nomad's mantle... Spike Necklace, Brigandine, Life Belt. You knew exactly what you had to get for every level. But 14 is more like WoW. People don't really care what you're wearing because non-optimal gear doesn't penalize you that much (I'm strictly speaking with regard to leveling). Gear yourself with quest rewards. You can also buy gears through vendors (that are exact copies of gears from quests).

I will be in the city for conference until Sunday =/ I'll catch you on aim
