This is one of my favorite Gus stories. I still tear up over it because the pain in the story is so clear, and the salve for that pain is so easy to get, but his mothers can't see past themselves to give him what he needs. Such great writing too, her Gus was such a great blend of all the men of Pittsburgh. Brian,Justin, Emmett, and Ted, and I loved his Dawson's Creek approach to other people's problems.

I read this a little while ago and couldn't stop reading it either. It is one of the best QAF stories around, definitely the best Gus story IMO. I'm always amazed and ecstatic when I find a gem out there that I haven't come across yet, even though I've been reading QAF fanfic for years now.
