The dull grey of the sky was a drab background to the bar. The lack of blue in the sky only heightened Nanaki's sense of wrongness about Edge. He skulked in the alleys about the place for most of the day, attempting to get used to it, and remain hidden from human eyes at the same time.
He had just returned from meeting a man Reeve had sent to give Nanaki directions to Seventh Heaven. The nervous assistant of the WRO had messed up some of the description, but Nanaki's memory began to serve him again and he compensated. He stood in the alley between the bar and another building in dire need of repair. The street outside had too many people for Nanaki's liking, and so he approached a window, closed, presumably locked, and blinds drawn. He jumped onto a crate near the window and knocked, loudly and in a deliberate rhythm. Hopefully someone would hear him.
