COSTA DRUG SHAME
WRO soldiers were attacked and five killed by two unknown women during the company’s largest drug raid yesterday which encompassed the whole of Costa del Sol. The soldiers had been a part of an unprecedented move in which the company sent a few hundred armed men in to the beachside town in an attempt to curb the drug problem which has been spiralling out of WRO’s control lately. Houses were raided and individuals searched for any signs of drugs, with many being forcibly restrained for protesting the company’s actions. In the chaos that followed, two unknown women appear to have attacked a group of soldiers, killing five in cold blood before fleeing the scene. Eyewitness reports vary as to the circumstances behind the deaths, however it has been confirmed that the men died from excessive force blows to the head, or being mortally wounded from a bladed weapon.
One of the women has been described as being 5’5”, with blue hair, wearing a bikini and carrying a bladed weapon, while the other is about 5’10”, with short red brown hair and wearing a light coloured dress.
It is unknown where the women came from or if they were in league with each other, however WRO president Reeve Tuesti said the company has already started investigations to the alleged murders.
“We are investigating the deaths of these good men, and the perpetrators will not go unpunished,” he said. “Anyone who has any information regarding either of these two women are strongly urged to contact us, and people harbouring these fugitives will suffer the consequences.”
Regarding the city-wide raid, Mr Tuesti said it was a necessary move by the company. “While this raid was the first of its kind, you can be assured that there will be plenty more like this until the drug problem in Edge is eradicated. However we hope that future raids will not have the sad outcome that has occurred here today.”
After the raid, 13 arrests had been made, 8 on drug related issues and the other 5 for impeding soldiers during the raid. A total of 50 Blitz tablets were located along with a drug lab as well as a large Blitz stash on the wharf.
WEAPONS FEUD
TALKS have finally begun between WRO and Shinra’s presidents about a weapons upgrade deal, though it appears that so far discussions have not gone well. WRO initially approached Shinra last week about the contracting the company to research and implement a weapons upgrading program which will enable WRO to further enhance the safety of the city. Shinra have been silent on the issue up until this point, appearing to have ignored most of WRO’s advances after their very public falling out earlier this week.
However after days of speculation about whether the proposal had been dropped, WRO president Reeve Tuesti and a representative of Shinra Electrical Company met yesterday at an undisclosed location, the first known meeting between the two parties. Despite outward appearances, sources close to both parties have said the initial discussions have not gone well, with the WRO demanding a 5% increase to their contract, which was rumoured to expire in two weeks time.
CATS STILL PROWLING EDGE
THE two wild cats seen prowling the city are still on the loose, and were spotted in Sector Four yesterday. While the felines have not attacked anyone, many civilians are still holing up in their apartments afraid to leave and left wondering why the WRO has still not acted. The Broken Edge has contacted the company numerous times over the past two days but representatives have declined to comment. Citizens are reminded to be cautious while out in Sector Four, and if they see one of the cats, to stay still until the danger is gone and then head in the opposite direction.
