What: Under cover of the storm, Scarlet goes out to see what she can "liberate" from the shops.
Scarlet had spent the afternoon in her apartment, installing a heavy deadbolt on the door, and afterwards, taking a nap. At about six o'clock she had awakened refreshed and ready for the long night ahead.
She packed her purse with a few assorted tools, some plastic shopping bags and the gun, among the usual things, and went back out into the streets. She hoped this time there wouldn't be any monsters in her way.
As she made her way back toward the alleyway where she had first seen the creature, the air began, slowly, to chill as a storm moved in. Scarlet kept close to the walls as she could, and found the shop back as the first drops of rain began to fall. The coming storm had driven most of the people to find shelter, so the area was far quieter than before, and the owner of the pawn shop was long gone. Scarlet pulled a file from her purse and began to pick the lock. Fortunately it was cheap, and Scarlet was inside before the rain began to truly fall. She latched the door behind her, not turning on the lights, so she wouldn't attract attention.
Pleased with her good luck, Scarlet prowled around the shop, tossing things into the bags. A few knives, a battery powered hotplate, a clock, a small radio. The case at the counter proved easy to pick apart and relinquished jewelry and a more solid handgun. She gathered other small machines for parts.
The bags were heavy, and Scarlet decided she needed to return to the apartment before she visited any other shops. The rain provided good cover, and she didn't mind getting wet. the machines, well-wrapped in plastic, would be fine.
Carefully, she edged her way along back toward the apartment, moving between awnings and outcroppings in the hopes of staying somewhat dry, but didn't have much success.
