The first hint of light filtered through the broken planks of wood adorning the roof of the church as the world began to welcome a new day. Slowly it moved down, highlighting the broken pillars and rafters of the building until specks of light glistened off the waters surface. The sight was only disturbed by the odd ripple of water as a breeze passed throughout the empty church - throwing the reflected light into a multitude of directions before it settled and calmed once again.

As the morning light continued to fill the room, the water was disrupted yet again, but there was a distinct lack of breeze this time around. The clear liquid shimmered before it began to glow with a soft green hue. Moments passed by, and before too long, the silhouette of a body could be seen ghosting the bottom of the pond. It remained down at the bottom. Its shadowy figure swimming continuously around in circles until it burst above the waters surface with a deep roar.

The pillars trembled as the sound tore itself throughout the room, and even as it echoed out through the doors, large clawed hands rushed out to grip at the flooring around the water. Grunting, glinting red eyes blinked away the water as the green glow within faded away. The creatures blue scales glinted brilliantly beneath the morning light as it stretched out its wings behind it, drying them off as it clawed its way out of the water.

Standing on all fours, it shook the water from its body as it pulled its long tail from dangling in the pond. Tucking the wing up against its body, the creature growled softly as it pushed itself up to stand on its hind legs. Raising its head up high, it sniffed the air as it to find a familiar scent, but when it eluded the creature, another growl sounded deep within its chest while it fell back down onto all fours.

Its long nails scratched on the floorboards as it paced along its surface - stopping on occasion to crane its neck down in order to sniff at one of the fallen benches that lay forgotten on the ground. Mewing softly, the wings on the dragon’s back shuddered softly at the familiar scent was caught. Long fangs appeared as the creatures mouth opened, and after another mighty call, it returned back towards the water as it began to give off a brilliant glow. Walking right up to the waters edge, it stood proudly looking down over it as two figures began to materialise within the protective embrace of the liquid.
