I read Fahrenheit 451 in 4th grade, so I am absolutely not a fan of "age banding". It is merely another form of book banning....I've signed up and passed it along to the teachers and teachers in training that I know. Thanks for the info.

So they're taking it the route video games went.

Eventually, (at this rate) they'll have M rated books that you can't buy until you're 17. *shakes her head* I know the theory behind the video game rating system...but like communism it doesn't work well in real life.

I think you're right... I think that it will just cause more problems for kids and schools. My cousin refuses to allow her daughter, Grace, to read ANYTHING with a fantasy element... from Harry Potter to the Spiderwick Chronicles. I was already worried about when she got older and had to sit out in the hall or go to the library to write a paper because she wasn't allowed to read To Kill a Mockingbird. Heaven forbid she grow up with opinions and an imagination. Lets turn ALL of society into sheep for the intellectual slaughter.
