I am dismayed to find that - just as the other occupants of the house have claimed - we are indeed trapped here. I...cannot say that I'm proud of myself for rushing into this case as quickly and carelessly as I did. Clearly, I should have known better. I suppose I should have expected it; Wright never seems to fail when it comes to landing himself

If by "that long" you mean that I reserved my final judgment until having been shown the proper evidence, then yes- yes, it took me that long. I suppose, however, a common street thug such as yourself might not be able to follow such trains of logic.

Would you suggest that, after having entered into an unfamiliar establishment chock full of persons unknown to me - some of said persons being far from what anyone would consider sane - that I should simply take everything they say at face value without at least making a few of my own inquisitions?

I suppose you wouldn't happen to have done any poking around yourself, now would you?
