Titan AE

You know, I just watched Titan AE for the first time in like 5 years on TV. And... until now, I had never really realised how good it actually is. I wouldn't mind getting on DvD, would be good for a play every now and then. It has a strange appeal to me... kind of a Firefly-esque type of appeal actually. A small crew in a small ship out to do big ( Read more... )

Tee! Hurrah for Rasputina - but yeah, Melora's voice is majorly grating if you're not in the mood. At least you like some though - I'm such a bad influence on you! *muah!*

And y'know, this post comes at a very weird time - I just finished watching Serenity and here you are talking about Firefly. I'll have to track down this Titan AE movie - I've never heard of it before, is it an anime? Sounds like my kind of thing anyway...

Yeah I don't know what it is with me and your music...

Its not anime, its a sort of regular animation with some computer generated. Basically, evil aliens destroy the earth and humanity only has one hope... a ship called the Titan that was hidden somehwere in space for its safety. And once the guy's son (who happens to be the main character) finds it, he'll be able to save humanity. And I dunno, the crew and all that are very reminiscent of Firefly's situation. In a way, at least.

Er, oh yeah I picked up The Angel And The Dark River the other day. I'm really liking Your Shameful Heaven and A Sea to Suffer In. Sexuality of Bereavement and some of the others, not so much.

Oh, nice one! That was the second album I got - it's so heaaavy, I love it. Not ultra-hard riffs or anything, but there's such an aura of down-trodden sort of difused hope to the whole thing. Why am I trying to explain, you've got the album! you know what I'm talking about! You must have got the digipack - my edition doesn't have The Sexuality of Bereavment on it (which I believe was originally issued as a single?) It's on a compilation album I've got, and I don't care for it much either - and it's way out of place on this cd anyway. 'From Darkest Skies' is, I think, still my favourite on this cd - I listened to Your Shameful Heaven way to much, back in the day, and I'm kind of desensitised to it now, unfortunately :/

dude that movie was sweet, quite ahead of it's times IMO. good sound track too. It was kind of promoted as a kid-friendly movie because of some of the characters, but it seemed pretty dark from what i remember.

Yeah its primarily kid-friendly. There isn't any swearing from what I can recall, but there is plenty dark. Which, I guess, is why I liked it.
