Oh I'm so sorry you didn't get the job! The interview sounded so upbeat. I think they would have given it to you had not the regular teacher not returned.
There will be more sub jobs coming up. Even that teacher's assistant job sounds good. I guess times are still hard with teachers where you are. There are here. (Maryland). My coworker (at the univesity) just got her Masters in Elementary Education and is looking for a full time position. Not many offers though. She's received sub offers, but she's holding out for the full time.
