Tonight we are in Portpatrick. It's wet, and cold, and people keep cheerfully telling me it's summer. It's a magnificent place, though. No pics, as I somehow left my camera in the guesthouse when we went out, but hopefully lots tomorrow night if the wifi is as good as this. :)

It's a drizzly day here, so we've been into Rhyader to do some shopping and have lunch at the tea rooms, and then stopped to look at the abbey ruins. Still the most beautiful place. We've lit the fire and settled in for a lazy afternoon.

The biggest agricultural show in the Northern Hemisphere. All the usual trade stands and livestock, but the highlight of the show is Cob Day, when the senior stallions hurtle into the ring. You need to grab seats in the grandstand early or you miss out. We were at the show by 7:45 ( Read more... )

Some very fuzzy photos. It was a warm summer night, with thunderstorm. Apparently this tour is usually just a drive around to look at the lights, but fortunately one of our travel companions was a Texan named Craig, and he wanted to hop out and take photos. So we did.
