I will always remember him for what I think of as "Jack's big book of how things get done". I never missed an opportunity to hear him at any event I attended where he was presenting. He was always interesting and never dogmatic in his approach. He also had great legs in boots I probably watched his boots as much as his face in a class.
You're right. He was a towering figure and it is a terrible loss.
Yes, the BOOTS! Absolutely. Great memories. True, his impeccability of word, deed, plan (I think there were a number of "big books"!)--and BOOTS--was something to behold.
