On Tuesday, I saw HamiltonIt felt like I spent the evening on a different planet. I bought the ticket a year ago, because I realized if I wanted to see it, I should buy the ticket before the Tony nominations, and I refused to pay more than $100. It was truly transformative theater, the type that you will talk about to people twenty years down the road about. It has its flaws--not a single female character exists outside of those in love with the main character, yeesh--but it has a lot to recommend it. I think you made the right call not listening to the soundtrack, too. It would have been easier to work out what was going on/being said had I done it, but just because it's historical doesn't mean it can't have spoilers. And the spoilers are worth being heartbroken for.
