Paradigm Shift

You know, I kind of always thought that people became more desensitized and jaded as they got older. It occurred to me last night that that's not true. I don't know where I got that idea from in the first place, but I am certainly much more disturbed by certain things now that I'm older than I was when I was younger ( Read more... )

I thought about that, too. It makes a lot of sense. It's not so bad for me since I will probably never become a mother, though.

Gore qua gore never bothered me, and still doesn't, but I understand what you mean about becoming disturbed about some things as you get older. Frex, the older I get, the more the death penalty bothers me... as a teenager, it didn't trouble me, but I liked it less and less through my twenties. Now it seems terribly barbaric.
