M.E. trashed the living room while I cleaned the kitchen. I thought I had her safely being babysat by the teevee. She was so quiet about it that I didn't have a clue. I'd ask her brother to watch her but he SUCKS at it. He's 12 and should be more useful ( Read more... )

My kid does that on a daily basis. Those are the moments when I think about sending him to school! (haha!) Totally self serving, I know.

You really should ask if about them going without you. It can't hurt to ask, right? Imagine...actually missing them by the time they came home! How wonderful!

You know, I'm not against people sending their kids to school, but it bugs me that I only ever seem to want to do it to get them away from me. Not because I think it would be best for them. Yeah- totally self serving. But imagine all those hours to get stuff done!

I actually am considering asking if I can stay home when they go this Fall. If they choose to go to the one in California, I'd probably want to go because I've never been to California and I have this fantasy that California is Nirvana. But Florida is hot with big bugs and Disneyland isn't enough of a carrot to get me there. I hate loudness, crowds, strong smells and rides. It wouldn't be much fun for me. Though I would have given anything to go when I was a kid.

I've been to both, and they are essentially the same. Disney is Disney. If you can stand the one in CA, then FL is not that much of a stretch...there were no bugs when I was there! We went to FL at Christmas time and it was nice because all the Floridians thought it was cold out, and there were hardly any lines! Nice!

Being from the west coast, I'm actually kind of tired of California! Ha! But I understand the alure...

We have a few mutual friends and I've wanted to friend you for a long time, so I'm doing it.

I have three kids. We've lived in our house for a year, almost to the day, and I have been alone in this house twice. I would rather spend a week here alone than go on an all expenses paid vacation just about anywhere. My fantasies are pretty tame these days.
