Not Back to School Camp

Any of ya'll ever go to Not Back to School Camp- or send your kid there? Is it a great experience or- like church camp- is it mostly a place to go and have your first sexual experiences (not that I think that's so terrible, but I'm not willing to fork over $500.00 just so my son can snog in the woods)?

I know a woman (here in phx) who had 2 teenaged sons who went every year to the one in oregon. I think there's also one in vermont or somewhere else east coast? anyway, i've heard good things.

They had one in West Virginia for awhile (we're in Virginia) but Hot Sauce was too young then. Now it's in Vermont, which seems so far for my baby to go away- but the camp looks so cool! Have you been to the site?

m the elder went away to camp and came back with hickies. it's been downhill since then, and tomorrow i'm making a family planning appt.

i have all kinds of sex positive things i know how to say, but my current knee jerk useless advice is:

do not let the hormone-ridden little fucker out of your SIGHT.

and yes, there may be some projecting going on here.

HA! I thought about it some more and I already decided that 13 is too young to be introduced to a camp full or hormones hidden away in the woods- at least for him. There's no way there won't be sex going on- it's camp!

I think that's great you're making that appointment. My mom offered to do the same for me when I was a teenager(which was a hard thing for her to do) and I got offended and refused to go with her. What business did she have poking her nose into MY sex life?! But because she made a big deal out of it, I made an appointment at Planned Parenthood for myself and dragged my boyfriend along with me.

I am much more devious than your mother, apparently. I made it with my good friend the dr., told M the elder it's an annual exam, and will not be going in with her. Manipulative some? Why yes, thank you.
