my first introduction to Claudius was with PBS' "I, Claudius" in the seventies ( i think) and was also my intro to derek jacoby (whom i adore).

fabulous history, that.

i've also watched every episode of "rome" with baited breath. but i think the show's been cancelled. le *sigh*

i use the telly versions to spur me on to do actual research about the situations. which is how i started reading about RUS and Vikings and Russians and Icelanders, recently. fun.
