Periodically throughout the flight I had these waves of realization of just what I was doing. Each time, the thoughts were the same - “I’m living in a castle; I won’t see my family, friends, or schoolmates in Boston for the whole semester; I’m thousands of miles away, across an ocean” - but the feelings were different.

i think deep down youve always belonged in a castle. wearing robes that sweep the floor as you majestically walk down an enormous flight of stairs with a candlestick in hand. im sure its quite a sight to see. it also could be the beginning of a horror movie. hah.

anyway, i miss you.

All European keys are skeleton keys - it's the biggest pain in the ass ever. They don't fit nicely on key chains or in pockets.

It's all so whimsical and wonderful. On the right days, with the right light, stand on the inner-moat bridge and look at the side with the huge bush. And if you look at the water, it seems like a moving impressionist painting.

I mean, most water does.

But when you're at the castle, every experience is just a bit heightened by the surreality of it all.

I am so happy for you.
