they serve you dinner and read poetry (all in french so you might not understand most of it but it's still beautiful so it doesn't really matter), and they're incredibly nice. my friend and i were referred to as "nos amis americaines" - we were the only non french people there for the majority of the time.
if not, barcelona's supposed to be fantastic (never been, but i'm going this summer). madrid is a staple. toledo's one of my faves...old, quaint, perfect example of living in religious tolerance sevilla's beautiful last but ABSOLUTELY NOT least, granada (if you get that far south..). the alhambra is a thing of exquisite beauty and might just change your life by visiting it. seriously, prettiest place ever. the muslims know their architecture.
Cadaques in Spain! I've got a lil' something something coming your way soon.. but I don't think it'll get there in time to tell you about the fabulous town of Cadaques, Spain where Dali lived! It's outside of Figueres. Look it up and try to make a stop there. It's in the northest, before you get to Barcelona!
hey, you comment on all my friend's pages. and once on mine. who are you? what's your name? well, not to be prying or anything. i'm in europe, too, as a matter of fact.
How strange to comment on my journal and not leave your own name, Mr. a-Zaslow. No worries. Who am I is quite a question, though my name is Shawn Elise. What brings you to London?
Well, Miss Shawn Elise (how adorable is that... I wish you were here, if only so the pledges could say that!), I don't know anything about Spain. It's someplace I've always wanted to visit, or possibly live. So please tell me everything about it when you get back. I think you know my feelings on Paris... I was almost kidnapped there, and thusly, I don't really like it too much. It is fun to walk around in the evening and see people lounging around with a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine. If I could somehow paint my experiences there, it would end up being a bizarre mix of beautiful and bizarre. I have sort of a love/hate relationship with everything French as is, and I'm excited to see how it works for you! I'm sure you'll love it, as you manage to fall in love with pretty much everything. I miss you and it hurts my soul that you aren't here to experience the oddity of being on the other side of the table. Lovelovelove.
