Room 307, Saturday morning

Dec 03, 2011 10:19

Dave had a decision to make. He could stick things out in Fandom and hang out with friends, his girlfriend, a deranged roommate who had a poster of some guy over his bed now, and people who knew how to use weapons while he hid under his bed with Topher's strobe. Or he could take a chance at going home and possibly disappearing forever. In order to ( Read more... )

Well, was it still easy when a girlfriend stopped by with coffee-flavored drinks that were really mostly whipped cream and vanilla flavoring?

...yeah, probably.

"Morning!" Miley chirped, sticking her head in the doorway. "Did you know the coffee shop is, like, total-- whoa. What's with the poster?"

"I have no idea," Dave said. "Topher put it up the other day. I'm guessing he's starting to branch out into crushing on other people." Not quite, Dave.

"What's that about the coffee shop?"

Good try, Dave. But no, never.

Miley could see why someone would put up a picture of a guy who looked like that, but she was choosing to remain quiet on that topic. Like a good girlfriend.

"Oh, they have this vanilla thing." She held out a cup to Dave, unaware that this offended all his coffee-loving sensibilities. "Try it!"

It wasn't that Dave disliked fancy kinds of coffee. It was just that they could have gotten more caffeine in there if they didn't waste room with other flavors. He didn't see the point in the morning.

"Okay," Dave said, taking the cup and then taking a sip. "That's not bad. Not bad at all." It could use more caffeine. But that wasn't what made him seem a little distracted.

"Is it gone?" groaned a half-asleep Topher from across the room after Miley's departure.

"The funny thing about girls is that they have a pronoun of their own. You can call her a 'she,'" Dave said.

"I don't like her," Topher announced, using the appropriate pronoun this time.

This was fairly clear by now, Topher, thank you.

"To her credit, she hasn't hit you for any reason yet," Dave said.
