My job isn't so bad. I just find it rather boring. I'm always busy doing something, it just gets repetitive. I get stuck in the fitting room a lot, but I'm learning to like it. I'm always back there by myself so I don't have to impress anyone. I have yet to make a suggestion for someone without them asking. Partly because I feel uncomfortable ( Read more... )

Does mike know any programming?? If he doesnt I would highly suggest that he try to learn a programming language first before he decides that what he wants to do....Programming takes a specific mentality and you to be able to stare at lines of code for hours.

I know that he has taken C++ before, but that was a few years ago. He started teaching himself HTML and then I think he is going to move on to other languages. I think that it is something that might be hard to learn, but once you know it it becomes boring. I worry that he'll just get bored again. Personally I think he should pursue something with his polisci degree. Those kinds of jobs would probably be more challenging for him.

Its not too hard to learn as long as you're really into it but if you really into it then its not going to get boring either...but if you dont have the mind set it will be interesting in school but then when you move over to the real world it will get boring real quick.

With programming you have to be able to approach things in about three different ways for every problem.. You also need to be able to come up with formulas on the fly to figure things out. Its really something you have to be into creating a video game/application is entirely different than playing/using one.
