So Murphy is curled up in his basket and Wyatt is curled up on the lid of some big plastic bin of crap (good crap) that needs to be sorted and I'm stretched out on the couch with my laptop right where it belongs. It's cool outside and the front door is open so the breeze can come in and stir up the cat hair tumbleweeds.

I'm slowly getting my head ( Read more... )

I can't believe I know more than one person going to the Sheep & Wool festival tomorrow!

Are you watching Dollhouse? Brian seems into it, but I could take it or leave it.

Hi there! Did you go? I stayed away, as it turned out. I regret it, but I woke up so late that I couldn't do that and still keep another commitment that I'd made. I really wanted to watch the spinners and see about getting some lessons.

Yes -- I do like Dollhouse. Part 2 of the season (or possibly series) finale is next week and I'm really curious to see what Joss Whedon has in mind. So many of the characters on there are good. It just doesn't take your fancy?

Hey, what's this about you getting married?? Congratulations! I need to catch up with your LJ. Really, though, yea for you!!

I wasn't going, but a girl I knew from high school said she was going.

I don't like Summer Glau and the other stick-thin doll, and I hate how the one normal sized girl in the cast looks like Godzilla standing next to them. Also, I just don't know how I'm supposed to care about a character who has a new personality every week (or, no personality). I like some of the other characters on the show just fine. The Alpha guy cracked me up in the last episode--though I think he was pretending to be someone else at the time.

Oh yes, I'm getting married in 364 days! I'll probably need to commission some custom wedding jewelry....

That's Eliza Dushku (sp?), but I know what you mean. The thing is, the normal sized girl, Melanie (aka November) has the Paul Ballard character crazy for her while the stick-thin girls really have no one. So I don't see the series as criticizing her for being heavy. I feel they show her as lush and desirable. I really like Topher, the computer guy, and Boyd, Echo's original handler. And I'm hoping Echo will be strong enough to keep connecting the dots.

You know, I was hoping you'd want some jewelry for the wedding. I'd love to make it! Let it be my gift, okay? Think about designs and colors and let's see what we can come up with. Oh, and I've started working a little bit in silver wire. I fuse the wire into rings and whack on it with a hammer -- it's fun. I'll try to load some photos that will explain better.

What a wonderful sounding afternoon! Those are my favorite kind, where a wonderful breeze gets attention.

Car? I hate cars. There's nothing much about them that I like. I like the convenience they can give, but that's about it. Most of them leave a huge carbon footprint, are surrounded by stinky fumes, and are over-priced glorified hunks of junk, I mean metal--put together by fold-out directions and big bolts.

Hey, tell me Chris Carter wouldn't be going wild with this N1H1 panic...

A friend sent me an essay where the writer called SUVs "clown cars of the apocalypse." I loved that. Hmmm, I wonder if I can find that again? If I do, I'll send it to you. It's a fine read.

Oh yes, Carter would be on top of this, all right. I'm fairly peeved with the way the news people are flogging this.

Oops, Murphy's going after my leftover spaghetti, got to put it up!
