I don't really understand how it's going to work yet, but I'm with you. Each family has a completely different situation to consider.
I'm not sure what the problem is, with calculating insurance costs based on income (or lack of). There is too much political shit involved, but the bottom line is, people need the damn insurance. Let's hope it works!

Jesus Christ THIS. YES. For fuck's sake.

This bill has backlash for my self-employed psychologist father who does not, presently, take insurance for his clients. But at the same time it means my mother with a spinal injury, fibromyalgia, and an immune disorder can pay LESS than $600/me for SHITTY coverage. It also means I get coverage for less than $300 a month, plus tax breaks.

Am I being selfish? Maybe. But I think that healthcare, of the non-catastrophic variety, is a basic human right. And do excuse me, but fuck the haters.

I totally and wholeheartedly can empathize with you on this. :/ In my opinion, it's extremely sad that we are basically the only rich country without healthcare for all of its citizens. (hi, it's christine btw!)
