Wonder Days

Awww I miss Borders. I am actually surprised they didn't stick it out through the holidays-to try to make a few extra dimes. I think everyone thought the same and was surprised at the sudden death of Borders. PS I hate my new job. I will never have a job like Borders again.

I don't know anyone from my store who now has a job that they like as much as their Borders job. Many of them hate where they are now, and they're not malcontents. If you liked your Borders gig, it's a very tough act to follow.
Sudden Death?

The company was declared dead 3 years before it finally closed for good. So, there is absolutely nothing sudden about the demise of Borders.
I do kinda agreed with you on one thing though. I visited a Barnes & Nobles a week ago. I realized that I missed working in a bookstore. Yet, working for Borders was absolute hell. So, I am eternally grateful that my new job isn't anything like working at Borders.
It's your fault 100%

If you guys would have sold more Rewards+ cards we would still be in business.
I gave you a World Class Website. World Class E-readers. The best Loyalty program in the country. Coupons every week to stimulate traffic and sales. I gave my all to you.
You guys dropped the ball. You spent too much time on LJ and not enough time selling books. Hell, we even brought in hot-sellers like glitter balls, exciting wind-up toys, an awesome assortment of Japanese candies, the best bargain book assortment in America. You still didn't bring up sales.
I have a clear conscience and a few hundred thousand and I sleep well at night. It's all good.

Lol. Mike. Looks like you fucked up up your resume again big guy. You must feel great about leading another great company into failure. Lol. I think your now considered a Risk to any organization. Hope you saved some $$ along the way. Going to be hard finding a job now. Perhaps WalMart is in your future. But, seems as if they may be onto your success and common sense approach too. Good luck fuck up!!
In all fairness it was his job to try to convince everyone all was well. I'm no fan of ME, but most of this mess was created long before he arrived on the scene. Whatever he did or didn't do, it was a done deal by the time he showed up. Time to move on.
Maybe ME can go to work for the Gap now. They just announced they're closing 1/3 of their stores and opening stores overseas. Yeah, that worked out SO WELL for Borders. American retailers tank overseas. Anyway, Mike there's a job for you!
