I'm interested to hear from my former co-workers, if you've moved on to a new job, what are you doing? I obviously wont ask if its better than Borders, but how much better than Borders is it ( Read more... )

I'm an Area Sales Manager for a department store chain. More money, less hours and great benefits. That said, I miss my "minions" and our bookstore.

No, a smaller, privately owned chain. Almost as old as Sears, though. Well over a hundred years old.

I worked, right after Borders, at the local library. It was super cool but not enough hours. I soon saw an ad, in the newspaper, for a full-time job with benefits. I was so desperate since I really don't have any family and can't borrow a dollar from anyone-I sent my resume. I literally had NO experience in this field but the guy called me. I guess--- fast forward now and I have my own office with two guys working under me.
So you never know. My ending with Borders was a disaster. It was filled with ugliness, on my part and my former management, but I guess that's how the punches roll.

I still miss Borders and how much fun it really was (before RM and ME) I miss my former corworkers (well not all) that literally filled my days with fun. I can say that ALL my former coworkers have found FULL TIME jobs after Borders. So good luck to all of you out there.

I work in the library at the local state university. As much as I loved my BSR despite Ann Arbor's descent into madness, I wish I'd thought to work here years ago.

I worked at a temp job for Costco shortly after getting laid off by Borders then I ended up at a TV repair shop doing selling TV replacement parts on their ecommerce side of the business. It's definitely better pay and full-time but still no benefits. :(

Can't complain too much I guess but planning to move out of it and into something that pays more. For the time being though, it pays the bills.
