And I'm going to go out on a limb and do what I always do here and say that while maybe these songs weren't *good* they did kind of epitomize the 90s. I for one do think of stupid pop music when I think of the 90s.

Iris makes me sad, because the Goo Goo Dolls are a lot better than that.

It's sad that I had so much respect for Christina Aguilera because she actually had measurable amounts of musical talent, at least compared to other singers at the time.

My dad once referred to the Backsteet Boys as the 90s version of the Monkees. And, well, we do still remember the Monkees (I don't know with how much enthusiasm, but we do), so...maybe...

Your Face.

At least The Monkees admitted that they were fake, and I think they had some pretty good songs as well.

I just think the countdown maybe should have been "biggest hits" or "most memorable songs." If you're going to include Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys and the Spice Girls, it should not be called "greatest songs" because those were not good songs and were not even written by those who received credit for them. I mean, to have Radiohead followed by an N*Sync song then Ice Ice Baby then Ricky Martin is just ridiculous. They have nothing to do with each other.
