i don't even understand how or why things become popular but especially things like mustaches and owls, i mean they've been around forever but they've only recently started being trendy, why is this and how do these things get decided, it all must be some type of conspiracy theory, a tiny few executives sitting in swivelly chairs at round tables ( Read more... )

I've never liked automatic spell checkers for anything less than an essay; it seems thought-police-esque. You really seem to like saving electrons, though (and royal we's).

I wonder if moustaches became more popular because of Movember? I was on the tube the other day and actually saw a girl wearing a moustache necklace and wondered why. Does she want a moustache or does she just really like people with moustaches? Or did her favourite great uncle die and he had a moustache, and that is how she remembers him? Or maybe she doesn't even think about the moustache and is just trying to be trendy.

Hmm, I think mustaches were popular before then, but Movember capitalized on it? It's also interesting how unisex mustache accessories are. The reasons for wearing them might just be slightly different for everyone.
