Fanfic Update

After a few months of down time, it seems I'm finally getting back into writing whole-hog once again. Here's what's currently on my plate and where each series stands at the moment:

JLU 2001:
Hellblazer: This is a series that I need to be in a certain kind of mood to write. I need to feel maudlin, a little depressed maybe?, and a whole lot of ( Read more... )

I haven't forgotten Wildcats, but like you said, it's a difficult title to write. I hope I'll be able to get to it sometime this week before I go to the Philippines.

I think of all your stuff, I'm looking forward to Ghost Rider the most. No one knows the character better than you.

Honestly? I think Wildcats is hands down the most difficult title I've ever written, with only mine and Mike McGee's Defenders even coming close to it.

And I'm glad you're looking forward to Ghost Rider! I'm pretty anxious to get started on it, myself.

Ix!! Man, please don't stress about "Secret Six." I'm still down to work on it whenever the time is right for you and me both, so no worries there. I still think that we cooked up *so much* great material, plot-wise, that it needs to see the light of day in some form, so whatever pace works, works ( ... )

Oh man, I had no idea you'd been in the hospital. Glad you're doing okay now, just watch yourself so you don't wind up there again! I've been having health problems (i.e. the shit with my back/hips and such) for the last year, and it absolutely fucking sucks. Be thankful that you're healthy, dude, lol.

In hindsight, I think it would have been a good idea to hold off posting any issues of Secret Six until we had the first arc or so in the bag. I cranked out that one scene with the Rogues last month, and that's the last time I've touched it. When I get through with all the Omega X-stuff I'm in the middle of, I'll try and turn my attention toward the Six.

I hope your own health woes have abated at least somewhat, Chris. Do you see a chiropractor, or are your troubles beyond that? I ask because I found this awesome woman here who cracks me when my lower back occasionally gets out of whack -- she's this tiny little woman who can't weigh more then 95 pounds, but she's worked for most of the major local pro sports teams (Raiders, 49ers, Giants, A's, Warriors...maybe not the Sharks, though? I can't quite recall for sure...), some of the local college teams (UC Berkeley), and was even flown out to Beijing to work on some of the Olympic athletes when the Games were held there not too long ago. I've been to weak chiro-people, but a good one is amazing! But anyway, thanks for the good wishes -- I'm *much* better now, but for some residual swelling in the elbow. Been back at the gym a couple of times now, and I feel really good ( ... )

The situation with the pinched nerve in my lower back has gotten monumentally worse in the last 3 weeks. I'm in more pain than I've ever been in my whole life. I go to see my orthopedic doctor on Monday to discuss more treatment options, since the cortisone spinal injections were a big fat failure. I want to try chiropractics and acupuncture, but if those don't work out...well, it looks like I have the two options left of a) living on pain killers for the rest of my life or b) getting the extremely painful and extremely difficult to recover from surgery procedure. Le sigh, lol.

I would say that I'm most looking forward to X-Men, Astonishing X-Men and the New X-Men.

X-Men offers a view we rarely see, the X-Men portrayed as the terrorists that they are so frequently considered and that has been a great read in the past. Astonishing promises to become "the flagship" that Uncanny left behind.

New X-Men? I just have a love for these kids and I want to see them grow on the site.

Good stuff is coming, man.

The X-books at Omega have always been pretty disparate, there was never a feel of the books sharing a connected universe. That's what I think I'm most looking forward to, actually taking the X-line as a whole and moving all the titles toward the same certain goals.
