I haven't posted in a while, so here is a pointless musing direct from my Facebook!

Actual Japanese to Engrish word translations on the Nikon calibration software I used at work:
"Calcurating" (Calculating)
"Taking a image",
"Now Ending Shori" (Now Ending Shortly),
"Now Under Processing"

Whoever wrote the calibration application for the Nikon Read more... )

Now Tim, that's just racist. By saying what you actually saw and even though it was fully fitting a sterotype, makes you a total racist. You should go turn yourself in to Barack Obama himself. Tisk tisk, Tim.

yeah, the coolpix suck. I prefer their SLRs. anything less than an SLR should be either Cannon or Sony.

For what they are, some of them aren't bad little cameras. The Coolpix L100 and P series make for pretty decent near-pro bridge cameras for those who can't afford the Nikon D series or other DSLRs. Even the more expensive straight-up point-and-shoots have some not too bad features; the S630 has a 7x optical zoom for example. There are other features that I would assume the others have, however I work with mostly Nikons.

There is one feature where the Coolpix is superior to the Sony CyberShot (or at least the one my mom has), and that is display settings for just-shot photos.

Anything is better than the crappy Fuji 4.0 megapixel camera I bought back in 2004 and still have...
