I finished Changes. I want to punch Jim Butcher in the face.

I drank a double-and-then-some of my unnamed pear-raspberry concoction.

I am sad and discouraged about several important parts of my universe that appear to be disintegrating. I feel like all I can do is keep writing probably meaningless classes and programming stuff while it all goes down ( Read more... )

See, I absolutely *loved* Changes, in spite of the ending. (Did not love the ending.) But loved everything up 'til then, and the big battle and everything that led up to it and the climax and the aftermath. Until the last page. :-/

Looking forward to Ghost Story.

Well, sure. But he SAVED her. And, though the cost was extremely high, the victory was decisive enough to ensure that there would never be another incident of that type by that collection of perpetrators.

But I know what you mean.

Dammit, I was waiting patiently, and now I really want to read Ghost and Side Jobs. See what you did? >;-P

I can't assume that I absolutely *know* what you're talking about up there, but I *think* I have a few good guesses.

I too am sad and not sure what to do.

I *told* her to read the bits out of Side Jobs as she was catching up on the series, but, no, "I won't read a set of short stories except all in one lump" Pfah.

I usually don't like short story collections, and all I read was the LAST story, but it really worked after Changes. Made sense of the universe.
