Matthew having taken several afternoons off in the last few months to play golf, today took a day off so that I could get a bit of a break (outside weekends which always feel like they should consist of going out & doing lots of stuff

Ah, they look great! Did you use a machine or hand-sew the applique edges? :)

Machine - I wanted to make sure it would be robust enough to stand up to repeated washing-machine cleaning; plus I wasn't sure I could sew onto a jersey fabric without it stretching and rucking.

Machine, as I say to taimatsu above. It's a very pleasing activity, especially when you can use genuinely leftover scraps of material to make something new and lovely.
