Poetry #4: A Mother's Love

Sep 07, 2011 15:34

Title: My Dear Child
Author: Hedda
Word Count: 159
Prompt: A Mother's Love - Acrostic
Genre: Drama, Family, Angst, Introspective
Universe: Pre-CU
Rating: T
Warnings: Hints on death on violence...
Summary: In her final days, Izayoi holds her little son Inuyasha in her arms
A/N: First time I wrote something about Izayoi. Yeah! Another character conquered. XD Suggestions for improvement are always welcome. Ten syllables per verse seems to be what I'm most comfortable with. Also, rhyming helps me find the right words. I just wished I knew more words.

Anyway, have fun! =)

A mother’s love never ends, my dear child
My son, your father’s image, strong and wild
Oh, but the mortal weakness in your veins
This legacy is from me and it pains
How I wish I could take this cup away
Everything I’d give, but I’m left to pray
Restless, because of your uncertain fate
Sesshomaru feels only burning hate
Little will he care for his brother’s weal
Our hope: he detests half-bloods for a meal
Villages of both, demon and man kind
Expulse hanyou, because their hearts are blind
No, do not weep, my son, for a new dawn
Eventually will break, when I’m gone
Vigorous you’ll have to be to survive
Eyes opened as you struggle through your life
Rest assured, I’ll be watching over you
Even in death, my love always be true
No, don’t cry for me, enough tears we’ve spent
Destiny’s threshold we must now transcend
Sweet child, your mother’s love will never end
