Thanks. She keeps dying over and over again and Inuyasha feels guilty about all the time.

This is a completely different take on the art than most I've read, but, looking back at the piece, I can completely see it. Nice work on this.

Question: On this sentence: Even though he had failed to protect it would have something to bring back to Kaede. shouldn't there be a her after protect?

Thanks. I have written so much IK that when I start to write IK fluff I get deja vu. I know kriscynical did not intend this approach, but thirteenwishes intrigued me with her story "It's Simple" about Kagome might have helped IY through his Kikyou problem. I did a songfic on Inukaiden to Evanescence's "Wake Me Inside" about IY 's desire to go with Kikyou. I like to read fluff,but it makes me comfortable writing it. I will leave the fluff to KK and her muses. She does it so well.

I like your insight on Kagome's feelings about Kikyou's "death". It's hard to be there for the one you love when he is mourning the loss of his first love but Kagome does it time and time again. At the same time, her constant forgiveness feed Inuyasha's guilt over what he feels is his obligation to Kikyou.

Thanks. I followed thirteenwishes version in order to reflect the picture that
kriscynical shows. In the manga Inuyasha tells her he is OK and simply walks past her. Both thirteenwishes and I wish that she had reached out and hugged him right here. She does not because she is so torn about what to do about his depression over Kikyou. Of course if she had done so we would not have the great scene where Kagome admits her love and frees herself from Baby just
as Inuyasha is arriving to save her. Maybe RT was setting up the angst to make it more dramatic.
