The jaundiced eye this taiyoukai had turned
His way with such disdain-like amber ice
That froze the heart and cut the quick-now burned
In golden pyres of molten rage. Just ‘nice’
Did not begin to touch the change he’d wrought
Upon perfection’s face. That citrine glare
Took on new charm, and Inuyasha fought
The urge to stand and stare, admiring where
His fist had slipped beneath his brother’s guard
With unforeseen success. The crushing blow
Connected, bruising more than pride; it marred
That fair complexion with his mark. Though
Forbidding sulfur blazed, he had to try-
To meet his match and black the other eye.
