Once upon a time, there was a new InuYasha fan who had just discovered LJ, and made a friend of one of the regulars there who shared some talk about InuYasha and fic.

The two of them wrote back in forth in email, and created some poetry.  The regular took the newcomer by virtual hand and showed her IYpoems,  and encouraging her, got her to join and

I liked the feature of exploring different form types each month (or whatever period you settle on). I joined right before it went into hiatus, well over a year ago, and thought the idea of various forms was a great idea. I just never got to practice them, lol.

I'm for anything that brings the comm back to life on a regular basis, honestly. :)

Feedback - I would love to get into poems (I used to write a lot) but my poetry muses are few and far between. It might be something fun to make (and I'm just blabbering without actually looking at the comm) a participation-type things rather than a challenge...

And perhaps tossing out different formats of poems, etc. rather than themes?

Or - and this would be a fun idea - challenge people to base poems on favorite poets - style, etc. (I claim Shel Silverstein!)

Girl, I think I channel Shel...he gets in my head and won't get out. Maybe Snark has him over for poker night or something...So you can't have exclusive dibs. But I'll share. (Go read my poem My Muse Went on Vacation and tell me if that wasn't Shel messing with Poetry Muse.)

This community seems like an awesome idea. It's so hard to find good IY fanfic comms that aren't either on hiatus or have a Mature rating (so strict on here, I can't get onto anything because of whatever age I put myself as when I made my account over a year ago. :( ).

I would love to channel some poetry into fanfiction through this community. I would definitely join if you had some challenges going on, and I love the thought of learning new poetry forms.

I shall now go explore the community.

It's still pretty quiet, in part because of my personal life crazies, and in part because I'd been thinking about what to do with it, but it's not closed...and you are more than welcome to post, but I suspect challenges will wait until the fall, unless I get more people who ask to do them now.
