So my life has gone crazy. Ever since I got back to school on Monday I have been panic-ing madly, working non-stop. I just finished a Theory of Knowlege presentation on child pornography vs art, specifically the case of Bill Henson in Australia last year. It was actually quite interesting to research, and I managed to apply it all back to music in ( Read more... )

I have to say I agree with you on the Henson thing, but I think there's a fine line between art and, well, pornography and he came very close to crossing that line. To the point that there will always be one side saying that it was pornography, and another saying that no, it wasn't. The thing I find interesting is that that exhibition (which wasn't simply about nudity) was so controversial, yet works like the statue of David (yes I'm bringing him into this) are seen as the finest form of art. The reason I find it interesting is that Henson's work featured young children, while the statue of David was a grown man. I just think it's interesting, because of how much more sensitive society is now. Hope that made sense...

11 weeks?!?! :DDDDDDDDDD (3 weeks is not long enough. Tell Qantas to fix it >:( )

And carrying the idea further, all the angelic babies in church artwork, be it the sistine chapel or anywhere else, they're not wearing much. For me it seems that nudes of adults are not nearly as contensious (sp?) as those of children, and with good reason I think. But I also believe that hanging pictures of naked kids is not in the same catagory as child pornography which creepers sit at home jerking off to.

I know right?! and I would miss the AFL, so basically qantas get your ass in gear!

I was going to quote your whole first paragraph of your comment and add to the arguments, but in order to save time and space, YES to everything you just said. Especially the cherub thing.

Can you get frequent flyer tickets with any other airline that will get you here earlier and for longer?

that's what I thought, and my parents are actually flying with thai. Their excuse is that I have to fly out of London and therefore it makes sense to use Qantas. And it's not even like they're flying together, and I just recently got Thai frequent flyer membership, so I could even use the lounge and that BY MYSELF but they're being lame and yelling at me every time i mention it :( So.. (and my dad gets a FREE UPRGRADE and everything. and mine just sucks :()
