3 days without a post.. Not so much, but, you know you want to hear from me again.

Firstly, i was just on Billy Beckett's blog, and he is apparently a Chuck Palahnuik nerd! =) And also, Choke is coming out tomorrow?? Apparently I have, as William suggests, been living under a cement block ( Read more... )

I like Palahnuik. I haven't read Choke, and I'm not sure if I want to watch the movie and then read it, or vice versa. **hands** William would love him, omg. \o/

Ew, homework. :(

You haven't read Choke??? You must be living under a rock. LOL. It is an amazing book. If I lived closer to you, I would be there right now thrusting it impatiently into your hands.

Does anyone have any info about the uni that isn't along the lines of "in an ambient atmosphere its students bask in how wonderful.." etc.?

I love when universities put things like that on their brochures. I don't know who really has time to bask in the ambient atmosphere while they're at college. Not me, that's for sure. The liberal arts kids do, I see them playing frisbee all the time in the ambient atmosphere, but not meeee. I think they should put more about "state of the art research facilites", "top-ranked professors", "interactive classes", "helpful faculty and staff", and other such useful things. As well as a nice listing of all the tutoring services on campus. Lord knows I need those.

Well I was in a bookshop with my best friend who happens to like chuck palahniuk (sp?) a whole lot more than me, simply due to having read more by him, and she said she wouldn't recomend choke.. so i got Invisible Monsters instead. Which I loved. And I am at the moment mid-way through fight club, and I'm sad because I have had no time to read it :(

I don't know, what with all these brochures being exactly the same its not making my chosing a college any easier :(. And I agree, they always show people sitting out on the lawn, enjoying themselves, but my impression of college is lots of work. *is totally confused* gah.

Hm. I will agree that Invisible Monsters is better, but you should definitely read Choke too. I made it my mission this summer (which I failed miserably at) to buy and read all of the Chuck Palahniuk books. I have Invisible Monsters, Diary, Rant, Choke, & Haunted. I've read Fight Club and Lullaby too, I just don't own them. I know what you mean about having no time to read. The only thing I've read since school started back is textbooks. And maybe more textbooks. It sucks.

On that note, university is work. Lots of work. Sure, you can find the time to relax and make it fun too, but you can't forget that it's about getting an education, which requires work. Unless of course you're a liberal arts major it seems (no offense to anyone who is, it just seems that on my campus they never do any work, they just play frisbee and quote poetry at you and sell cookies, no studying).

In which case I will buy it next time I see it and read it. When I have time! :(

Oh dear. Quoting poetry? Wow. I should do that then. =D shame I am the least artistic person you will ever meet. It does make sense to get an education at uni =)

Choke is coming out tomorrow? Apparently you've had some company under that cement block.

I don't know how we didn't hear about this. Perhaps our dear William is lying. Or, you know, it was a really big cement block.

Hi! So I figured I'd come over here and say hey! And in the first entry of yours I read you talk Chuck Palahniuk and William Beckett. You seem most excellent indeed. And I totally agree re: we're so blogging. I want to hear more Ryan Rossy observations on the world please.
