I've moved along the process of securing my own place and making it my home. Sure there's not much furniture here yet, but probably around half my things are here at this point, boxed and bined up

A 45+ minute drive is a bit long by many standards, but is rather typical for my region (SoFla'). I'll be moving this summer and am already a bit keyed up over it. Wishing you the best!

Congrats on the new place! I'd love to live somewhere where I could paint the walls. I get so tired of being surrounded by white all of the time.

Congrats on getting your own place! Did you get a house? As in buy your own? O_o? Hrm...?
Regardless, I quite agree. It's great to be able to decide what color your walls are because that's a great way to make your mark on your home! I also feel your paint-pains. I still have to finish up painting my bathroom. It's been an "in progress" project for way too long!

Its an apartment, but since the area isn't totally dominated with college students, the folks that run the place trust the people that live here to do things right. :-p
