After taking Maia to the airport near the end of last month I noticed she had left a drink in the back seat of my car. Upon closer examination it turned out to be a bottle of Snapple's asian pear flavoured green tea. Nothing too remarkable about that, right? However, the label states:

Ha, that is so funny! It just goes to show that the people creating the ads don't allways do their homework. I can't remember which car it was, but several years ago some company came out with a car name that ment no go in another language, and they couldn't understand why the car was not selling in that population!

Oh, yeah. That was for the Chevy Nova!

Another favorite of mine is a laundry detergent used in the Turkic-speaking world and Azerbaijan. In those languages the brand name means "snow" due to it's perceived ability to make your whites so bright. However, the spelling of the laundry detergent's name in English is ... "Barf"

It probably won't ever be a high seller over here.
