In two weeks I will be finished with my undergraduate degree, but there is still a large quantity of work to get through between now and then. At the start of the semester I noticed an unfamiliar scent coming from the kitchen while Wendy was making herself dinner. MK and I both checked to see what she was cooking and found out that Wendy was preparing a liver to eat. I was involved in several conversations at work last week in which myself or the other participant mentioned having a party with alcohol in the vet hospital's business office. While the sessions on offer for the second day of NWAC appeared to be even more interesting than those from the day before the reality was that today was a bit of a letdown. My former community college sent several representatives, which was a surprise, and meant that one of my former co-workers from Olympia was in attendance. Wednesday saw me donate blood for the first time in my life. Not only does this mean helping out someone who may need a blood transfusion, but part of the process also involves testing that will finally tell me my blood-type. It's hard to be happy when the person you most want to show that you care doesn't believe you. To hear that there was a spark of something that was so well-hidden that it eventually went out, and that it will most likely never return. But can't a candle's wick be extinguished and relit once again?
