TUMBLAH

WHY IS TUMBLR SO OBTUSE AND CONFUSING??

Is it because I'm getting old?

And for the love of Pete why have so many people defected to Tumblr for posting fic since it's a TERRIBLE platform for that.

Makes no sense. *stands on porch and shakes fist*

It even keeps Boy Genuis up at night.

I definitely don't like the feeling that I'm being left behind by technology. And more than that, I am genuinely confused by the fandom migration to other places like Tumblr. I guess it's just what's new and shiny? *shrugs*

The pics on Tumblr are pretty, but damn, you can post pics anywhere, yanoo?

Tumblah is a pain! Gifs do not move me very much, except to admire the expertise which crafted them. Skygawker gave me this link to her tumblr, and at least there's some ficcage: https://www.tumblr.com/search/skygawker I agree that it's hard as anything can be to find fic on tumblr, though. It's about as difficult as finding it on deviantArt!

I've been mostly reading fic on Archive of Our Own and, believe it or not, ff.net (the joy of digging into new fandoms!) Never seen anything on DeviantArt that struck my fancy, not to mention it's not really meant for fic.

Speaking of new stuff, I'm about tired of Ewan's movies taking so long. *huffs*

Tumblr is definitely a strange beast, and I tend to lose far too much time on it when I begin to watch the pretty pics. It will never replace LJ (even though LJ makes me bitch a lot too !!) for conversation and fics, though.

You are correct. Tumblr is not a good platform for posting fic or for discussion. It's great for image blogs, though. That's all I used it for.
I still maintain quiobisupport but ppl rarely use it these days. Which is a shame cuz Q/O is not dead - I see new fic and art posted on A03 and Tumblr, it's LJ ppl seem to have an issue with. Maybe to some of these new younger fans it's too old school. I know not.
