so my car got totaled today and the weird thing is that when i got slammed my life did not flash before my eyes. I did not have some life changing realization. Nothing. All i thought was "fuck....." and then boom! that was that.  Next thing i remember is sulfur and smoke in my car and me thinking "i could be wrong, but i dont think thats supposed

I'm glad to hear you're ok---and sorry to hear about your car---but from my experiences in car flips/totals.... there isn't any really super enlightening moment. Really just the "oh shit...." and then "Daniel/Dad/Mom/whoever owns the car, is going to be REALLY PISSED at me..." and so on.

I think the whole flash before your eyes thing is just a theatrical device. I think that in the end it is probably like you describe--a blur of images,a "fuck" and then nothing. Of course, we can't know...ya know.

Thats kinda a let down.... i was looking forward to the flash before my eyes thing. I think i would be interesting. But i guess ill just have to accept the blur of images and a simple "fuck".....

But then again, MAYBE you only get the full-on "Flash before your eyes" before you are ACTUALLY going to die.... does that make you feel better?? ;-)

I remember crashing into a wall while falling off a horse, and I thought "OH MY GOD. I'M GOING TO DIE AND I'LL NEVER EAT PEANUT BUTTER AGAIN." I don't know why this went through my head because I really dislike peanut butter.

The human brain is a weird weird thing.... and I wonder where the idea of "your life flashing before your eyes" came from?
